Part of the 2022 Human Energy Workshop Interview Series

Many of the concepts that underlie Human Energy’s mission — such as the Noosphere and the Third Story — are unfamiliar to the majority of the general public. Their meaning can be dependent on the context they’re used in as well.

In order to better understand these ideas and their relationship to Human Energy’s multiple missions in the world, filmmaker Alan Honick interviewed some of the key attendees at our 2022 Workshop, asking each of them the same set of questions. After the Workshop he assembled the most interesting and thought-provoking responses to 6 of those questions.

In this video, workshop attendees reflected on the question:

What is the compelling problem that Human Energy is trying to solve?

Two LDS concepts that this conceptualization may fall within:
    1. The Holy Ghost is the Noosphere:

Since the Holy Ghost is a personage of spirit in the form of man (see 1 Nephi 11:11) and hence confined in his personage to a limited space, the question is often asked: How can he be a Comforter to all who have received the laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost, scattered as they may be, among all nations of men?
The following illustration may help to explain how this may be possible. The sun is millions of miles away from the earth; it is a body of specific dimensions; yet, when its morning rays stream through our windows, we remark, "The sun is in our room." A similar statement might also be made by a person thousands of miles away. Yet it is obvious that neither is correct, for the sun remains millions of miles away. Only the influence that it radiates is in our room. (A Marvelous Work and a Wonder [Salt Lake City: Deseret Book Co., 1950], 117)

    2. The Earth as an Entity (looser connection to the Noosphere concept):

    **Moses 7:48-49**:

In the Pearl of Great Price, Enoch hears the Earth mourning:

    > "And it came to pass that Enoch looked upon the earth; and he heard a voice from the bowels thereof, saying: Woe, woe is me, the mother of men; I am pained, I am weary, because of the wickedness of my children. When shall I rest, and be cleansed from the filthiness which is gone forth out of me? When will my Creator sanctify me, that I may rest, and righteousness for a season abide upon my face?"
**Book of Enoch and Other Apocryphal Texts**:

Various apocryphal texts, including the Book of Enoch, explore ideas of the Earth being a living entity, often with symbolic and spiritual overtones.

One could argue that there's too much of a stretch going on with both of these, that's fine. It's a hypothesis.
I came to hear about the Noosphere in general around 2012 with S.T.A.L.K.E.R.

Was introduced to this concept by discovering the noosphere research institute, a Russian site. They had a global map of the 7 areas on earth with the highest levels historically of shamanic activity, namely Siberia but also the us desert southwest, due to higher levels of clay beds in the soil. Clay being able to trap spiritual entities due to its physical properties and therefore leading to a need for shamans who can deal with these spiritual entities. Pretty cool stuff. They also claimed that the noosphere is the ionosphere of earth
