What is a wormhole exactly? Travel through a mashup of Startalk’s favorite wormhole moments with Neil deGrasse Tyson and learn the basics you need to know about wormholes.
Are wormholes real? How would they work if we could make one? Learn about Albert Einstein, the fabric of spacetime, and why wormholes would be useful for us. We break down examples of wormholes in movies, using wormholes as intergalactic highways, and time traveling with wormholes. Plus, how are wormholes connected to causality?

02/19/2025 - 6:18 AMIf you could create a wormhole, where would you go?
@Marshallica
02/19/2025 - 6:18 AMWhat if we send a human through a black hole in 300 or 3 thousand years and he doesn’t survive but the worm hole connects to our past somehow and pushes his atomized flesh through it and it creates the building blocks to human life and we mistakenly created ourselves in a never ending cycle.
@JManGB
02/19/2025 - 6:18 AMWhy don’t these guys interview doctor who writers and creators 😮

02/19/2025 - 6:18 AMArnt wormholes intrinsically time machines since u r skipping a whole bunch of mass and gravity on your way through? Even if you're using it only to go from place to place and not in time?
The distance that you would normally cover through consecutive motions in time you now cover instantly. You are literally skipping through time…. timemachine..
My bigger problem is creating wormholes to locations you have not yet been to. I think that problem might be even harder then creating one.
@gembolding
02/19/2025 - 6:18 AMIf transporters were real they would also imply that we humans, either do not have a soul or the soul is a material thing. Otherwise how could you recreate a human with it from the information in a backup system?

02/19/2025 - 6:18 AMI've been through a worm hole while on mushrooms. Your brain and body are separate. Mushroom spores can survive radiation. I believe they came from somewhere other than Earth. If they did, where is that place? A worm hole? And yes I am smoking a joint😂
@contactmeherein
02/19/2025 - 6:18 AMA four dimensional creature can do that. We can't. ❤
@lordkrythic6246
02/19/2025 - 6:18 AMBlack hole, white hole, worm hole, what does it matter? It's all pink on the inside.
@vj6024
02/19/2025 - 6:18 AMThe idea is great but I want to understand what the impact would be on the other side even if you bent space and time for a moment. Isn’t something unfavourable happening there?

02/19/2025 - 6:18 AMcan i ask something? when i watch one episode of family guy, there is a scene where brian tell peter he is severely obese that he has his own orbit, this raise a question how big of a mass something need to be to have its own gravitational force? when i google it, it have various answer and im not pretty sure which one is right
@danwear3366
02/19/2025 - 6:18 AMIf a black hole just sucks stuff and condenses it down even light cant escape it they say well all that material it gobbles up takes up space its something it cant feasably turn to nothing
@danwear3366
02/19/2025 - 6:18 AMWhite hole i told teacher he laughed at me when i said it makes sense simple right
@xiahan1698
02/19/2025 - 6:18 AMSo, worms are the fast animals, counterintuitively.
@johntracy72
02/19/2025 - 6:18 AMMaybe Santa Claus uses wormholes…
@garthlane4070
02/19/2025 - 6:18 AMAnybody else Miss Neil saying " Keep looking Up"?
@tjghostchain6212
02/19/2025 - 6:18 AMHow do you curve space and the puncture it though
@MAXCOBRALAZERFACE
02/19/2025 - 6:18 AMIdk 🤷♂ I don’t think 🤔 you can turn time and space into a taco 🌮 your pulling my leg 😂

02/19/2025 - 6:18 AMOnce you're born you always exists in that time so even you die but you always exists in that time and space
@Lightmaker5
02/19/2025 - 6:18 AMI have discovered the knowledge and already traveled halfways multiple times and the experience sucks. I have the memories of the alternative mes. Should you ever attain that knowledge, you will feel likey you're about to puke. It's exhausting trying to master yourself not to travel because your own thoughts pull you in. You do not require a machine to travel. Only the knowledge required.
@evilaccel9259
02/19/2025 - 6:18 AMA suggestion: Do you think that a wormhole is actually a magnet? What if, instead of a 'hole' in space, it’s two black holes pulling two sides of space closer to each other?
I’m not talking about the example they showed us in the movies where people use a pencil to pierce a hole in a piece of paper, I’m talking about two ends part of a piece of paper bending like a circle, making a bridge that you have to either jump over or just walk over.
@ARK_369-o9f
02/19/2025 - 6:18 AM3:11 how would you going to warpp space when it is everything means we are in 3d space. How would you warpp a cube its not paper

02/19/2025 - 6:18 AMI just want to sit with this man and just pick his brain ! The knowledge this man has is astounding ! I truly love learning from him !
