Dive deep into the heart of one of physics and philosophy’s most fascinating discussions with “Eternalism: Time’s Illusion and the Block Universe Theory.” This video unravels the profound concept of eternalism, challenging our conventional understanding of time as a linear progression. Through a compelling narrative, we explore the intriguing notion that past, present, and future coexist within a timeless, four-dimensional Block Universe. Join us on a journey beyond the familiar, where we question the very nature of reality, free will, and our place within the cosmos. From the foundations of Einstein’s relativity to the philosophical implications of a deterministic universe, this exploration is an invitation to view the universe and our existence through a radically different lens.

02/21/2025 - 3:06 AMWell, one who choses where in the block to go still has free will. Yes it is all there, static, the movement you see is your movement through the block, but why would it be "on rails?" Pick a destination, get going.

02/21/2025 - 3:06 AMWe experience time linearly but the choice is ours, to choose the path, one in many

02/21/2025 - 3:06 AMThis is a fascinating concept. Time is a very difficult thing to define. I think of space as out there all around us and time in the same way. It is like reading a book where the story has already been written, we just read and follow the story in a linear fashion. However, you could jump back and forth throughout the book, and even read the ending first. I think of the block universe theory in the same way. We just have not yet discovered how to "jump" around in different points in time.
