http://www.artofspirit.ca/ (source: “What the Bleep Do We Know”) This is one of the key ideas from quantum physics that baffles most people. The philosopher in us screams that something is wrong with the way we understand reality. In fact, I would ask anyone viewing this to come to an honest conclusion: either a) our consciousness (mental activity, perception, observation) effects the behavior of reality (at least on the scale of the tiny), or b) a different conclusion. Personally, I can’t come to any other conclusion – can you? Although this seems very bizarre from the view of classical physics, from the view of consciousness theory and spirituality it fits perfectly.

I don’t think it’s the fact that an observer or watching. It’s that it was too close to the slits and effected it since it is an electronic and most likely effected it

The question I wonder is, is the observer (or in this case the measuring device) exhibiting an electrostatic force on the electrons for it to revert to behaving like a particle? Even measuring electrons requires some for of electromagnetic wave I assume with is interacting with the electron …

But the observer is a Person or a machine?

You didn't tell me how or why. This simply cannot be the full truth, an electron has no capacity for awareness. This was an experiment so clearly, it had happened, but I refuse to believe that it was the fact that the thing was being observed that changed it. Maybe it was some kind of magnetic field that the observer's physical parts projected that interfered with the electron patterns? Maybe this proximity to more matter changed its behavior?

I'm sorry, but an electron has no capacity to be aware of anything. One day, scientists will figure out the full truth and that day it will all make sense, but until then, this is a half-science that simply cannot be completely true as its described. It's just a complete and utter logical contradiction.

Finally got an idea what this "if ovserved" theory is about. I still don't believe it though.

A perfect example of pseudoscience. Our act of observation causes photons to interact with an electron, exciting it and collapsing the wavefunction before it reaches the detector. This supposedly explains why we observe particle-like behavior.

This is an area that I have a problem with. We need to ask how the sensors collect the data. It could be emitting radiation at some level that could interfere with matter to some degree. Matter (whether or not it's on a quantum level) is not sentient. It can't possibly know it's being observed. There has to be something to factor in when using these sensors. Maybe when technology advances in a couple of decades (or more) this experiment may produce different results.

God basically created AI(us humans) who are sophisticated enough to be able to scientifically prove that we are in a simulation.

The "optical measuring device" must have some way of interacting with the particle. So a camera, video recorder, or even an eye does something to the particle or space to obtaining the image

In the quantum field, all the possibilities are existing, all at once. They are just waiting for you to observe them long enough in order for them to go from a quantum wave to the 3d reality. The quantum wave is waiting for you to observe it long enough to collapse into the 3d
