MERCHANDISE NOW AVAILABLE
Even Christopher Hitchens was periodically stumped by this favourite among apologists. I’ve never quite understood the appeal.

Yes i cant say i agreee with fine tuning. I like the rolling the dice arguement. We only see the successful and not the failures of planets forming or even a universe forming . How do we know that this has not happened many times and some have failed. You could say the same about habitable planets how do we know some did not just fail for various reasons but our planet was one of the few successful planets.

Why would you spend +10 years of your life trying to debunk God.

There is a remote but modernised village. The only way to reach it is by a train line to a single stop called ‘Finely’. You can’t reach it on foot, by bicycle or road, by boat or by air.

A man visits this town and arriving at his accommodation greets the innkeeper excitedly with “I arrived here in the most extraordinary fashion! By train!”. The innkeeper is unimpressed as it was the single only method for arriving at ‘Finely’.

And so too, the wonder of God, reduced, boxed, constrained – God has no power to be truly creative and could only pick the single one method that resulted in planet Earth.

This is a Link to the video BEST ARGUMENTS FOR THE EXISTENCE OF GOD DEBUNKED

    https://youtu.be/qqgsg1cvvMg?si=FjFct3NdGSgTJ_6a

    These two arguments are that:

    (1) a god created the Big Bang and the origin of time.

    (2) a god fixed the values of the fundamental constants to allow life to occur

The fine tuning argument seems to me a variation of the intelligent design argument. It's interesting but still proves nothing.

But the problem is your trying to find God through science. God is Love and Jesus is Love. Accept Jesus as your Lord and Saviour and you start to know God. You start to see his wondrous creation in everyday life.

Fine tuned is bias, like there is a hole on stone, that fit for tiny drop of water, and there is water dropping continuously on it. And we conclude that, the hole is fine tuned for the water to drop through the stone.

Little boy: Did the universe create itself?
    Atheist: It’s possible
Little boy: so it’s possible that everything comes from nothing?
Atheist: yup, that’s right, it’s called the “Big bang theory”
Little boy: I read somewhere that it’s also possible that the universe is the way it is because.. because.. it simply must be!
Atheist: That’s also possible, what you are referring to is called “The physical necessity theory”.
Little boy: and what about our world coming from another reality. I read somewhere that this is also possible!
Atheist: that’s right, what you just mentioned is also known as the multiverse theory.
Little boy: Wow, but I have one more question 🙋‍♂️
    Atheist : Sure.
Little boy: What if a timeless, spacelessness, super intellect created all things! Is that possible!?
Atheist: No freaking way! It’s anything but that!

I always like listening to you, you are very smart 🙂 But I don't buy the necessity argument, I think the argument implodes on itself saying that the universal constants are perfect because the universe organized itself into perfection. It's just like saying that the universal constants are perfect because they are perfect, it doesn't prove anything, it's just going in circles…

    Big Bang?

The Qur'an says that "the heavens and the earth were joined together as one unit, before We clove them asunder" (21:30). Following this big explosion, Allah "turned to the sky, and it had been (as) smoke. He said to it and to the earth: 'Come together, willingly or unwillingly.' They said: 'We come (together) in willing obedience'" (41:11). Thus the elements and what was to become the planets and stars began to cool, come together, and form into shape, following the natural laws that Allah established in the universe.

The Qur'an further states that Allah created the sun, the moon, and the planets, each with their own individual courses or orbits. "It is He Who created the night and the day, and the sun and the moon; all (the celestial bodies) swim along, each in its rounded course" (21:33).

    Expansion of Universe

"The heavens, We have built them with power. And verily, We are expanding it" (51:47). There has been some historical debate among Muslim scholars about the precise meaning of this verse, since knowledge of the universe's expansion was only recently discovered.

Fine tune argument is actually a strong argument for evidence of advance intelligent designer.

  • @vladimirimp

    02/20/2025 - 1:44 PM

We’re at risk of being beaten by our own rule following here. The fine tuning argument is being presented as evidence not just for a creator but for the Christian God as the creator.

We take the argument at face value and admit it has merit without really tackling the way in which the believers believe it.

What do I mean? Well, they believe that the same force who created the universe created all life forms on Earth too. If we engaged with this argument we could look at the stark differences in quality. Whilst the creator of the universe made something so perfectly balanced it would be impossible by chance, their work on life forms is considerably more hit and miss; with things like redundant genes, optic nerves on the wrong side of the retina and a track record roughly around 99% of all the species that were incapable of surviving on the planet they were ‘designed’ for.

This hardly sounds like the same guy. How was he so precise with one creation but so slapdash with another?

Taking the ' dart in the room ', the dart didn't hit the target, the target was drawn around the dart. You would need a man who could actually see the dart in order to draw the target around the dart. So, If the universe was not 'fine tuned' and we were tuned for the universe. How were we tuned? Who tuned us? questions like these may arise.

Thanks for being a voice of reason. Nothing of this should disturb religious people. What a lame belief, that needs pseudoscientific fine-tuning arguments to work.
