CPU inventor and physicist Federico Faggin, together with Prof. Giacomo Mauro D’Ariano, proposes that consciousness is not an emergent property of the brain, but a fundamental aspect of reality itself: quantum fields are conscious and have free will. In this theory, our physical body is a quantum-classical ‘machine,’ operated by free will decisions of quantum fields. Faggin calls the theory ‘Quantum Information Panpsychism’ (QIP) and claims that it can give us testable predictions in the near future. If the theory is correct, it not only will be the most accurate theory of consciousness, it will also solve mysteries around the interpretation of quantum mechanics.

Marshall McLuhan used to say, "when people are talking on the telephone, they do not have a body." What he really meant was, where exactly, in space, is the consciousness that is having this conversation ? Consciousness, in physical reality, becomes a very abstract concept when you look at it from an objective perspective.

about consciousness and the topic of AI be superior to humans. The computer in sci fi movies turn against humans ,for instance, but to do that they computer needs self awareness ,that requires consciousness. So yes it can be concluded Pr Faggin is right ,consciousness is the essence of all experience that permeate matter.I find conforting that some words he says are the same that came out of my mouth "Each of us is a unique and insostituble point of view making an exsperience of consciousness.and am not a scientist ,of course!Thank you for uploading and suggesting this video .

What does it mean to BELIEVE, and what does it mean to CHOOSE. Both these things are functions of "Consciousness", and if "Consciousness" is connected to the workings of Quantum, then it most also be connected to these.

We CHOOSE BELIEFS, and BELIEFS are associated with EXPECTATIONS. These can be either LIMITING EXPECTATIONS, or UNLIMITED EXPECTATIONS. Where the resolution to "Superposition" is determined.

In "The Secret Life Of Plants", a book by Christopher Tomkins and Christopher Bird, Sir Jagadish Chandra Bose is reported to have conducted experiments and demonstrations of plant awareness and long-distance communication that is evidence of 'entanglement' between two plants. Some form of consciousness would seem to be required to explain those test results

I wouldn't call science and materialism shallow or elementary level, but after I started delving into yoga, meditation, and vedic teachings it became readily apparent that science could never solve the mysteries of reality and consciousness.
All the various theories of everything and consciousness to me seem analagous to each of us having our own unique personalities, and therefore, each can manifest differently. Or IOW, there's a unique correct truth of reality for each of us and all the theories may be correct in their own way?

Faith is the substance of things hoped for. Faith is a substance that cannot be measured by science. But science is finally catching up with these quantum truths that point to faith which resided in these designed quantum fields, which are by nature irreducible. More and more atheistic evolution is looking scant, reductionist and hollow

I think many many people are waking up. I have been for many years, decades. I’m no physicist for sure. But I’m in love with the subject of conciousness, who we are, what we are. Once for a fleeting moment, I felt what this means “we are the observer, the observed and the actor.” the first time I ever heard that idea was in Deepak Chopra’s book 7 spiritual lot of success. And I think he says we are the lover, the beloved and the love. Is that right?

The ancient Greeks had not reached quantum physics, but some of their philosophical concepts foreshadow its fundamental principles that Mr. Faggin knows very well!!
Mathematics according to Aristotle have no "Telos" (final purpose) because they are abstract concepts, not physical or mental beings that strive toward a goal. Consciousness is not merely computation but the understanding of meaning and purpose.

From "De Anima (On the Soul)", Aristotle distinguishes between two aspects of the intellect (νοῦς):
Passive Intellect (νοῦς ὁ πάθητικός) – This part of the mind is perishable and associated with everyday thinking, memory, experience, and perception. It processes the data received from the senses.

Active or Productive Intellect (νοῦς ὁ ποιητικός) – This intellect is immortal and eternal, as it is the higher faculty of thought. It is the part that "produces" or enables the understanding of universal truths beyond mere sensory input and experience.
An artificial intelligence (AI) cannot have consciousness because it lacks what Aristotle called the "poetic intellect" (nous poiētikos)—the higher faculty that is not limited to computations but creates, understands, and "sees" truths.

Also Plotinus this giant of intellect says in Enneads, "In turning toward itself The One sees. It is this seeing that constitutes The Intelligence"

37:26 when it comes to people's insistence on denying free will, i totally agree. It's no different from establishing a society built on trust, so you can use trust as an opening to exploit by using deception. Imagine, a segment of society that has convinced the rest that they have no control of their lives. While the convincers believe otherwise and capitalize on the illusion they have established. If you do not believe you have the ability of choice, you soon will not have the ability to choose. By denying it, you are handing power over to those who do believe in choice. This goes deeper as well, you could say the same thing about reality and defining your life. Even if you believe in free will, if you do not act on that ability, you are letting your life be determined by everything else, unfolding as it will. You should be the one collapsing the wave, you determine where the particle ends up or someone or something else will do it for you.

I would like to add one more element. Consciousness manifests in the physical plane through the mortal body, originating from beyond the framework of spacetime. Therefore, we do not "go anywhere" during the dying process because we were never truly confined to this physical plane, which exists within the evolving structure of spacetime.
Moreover, our current mathematics is governed by dimensions, making it inherently incapable of explaining "consciousness," which is eternal and dimensionless. Only through meditation and spirituality can one experience this eternity. It is only by seamlessly merging spirituality and science that we can truly understand the nature of our existence. Otherwise, even in the next 1,000 years, humanity will still fail to comprehend everyday phenomena such as "death."
The science community and humanity in general should express gratitude to and should encourage Mr. Federico Faggin for his ongoing revolutionary research in this field.

I really liked the example of the drone. What we call ' I', "You" etc are not the drones but the "person" controlling the drone. When the drone goes beyond repair or non-functional, it doesn't affect the person controlling it. This is the state which we refer to "death" in our physical plane. Consciousness in the example is the person controlling the drone. The drone doesn't have " free will" but the person controlling it ,"the Consciousness" does have. Same like in gaming , the gamer never dies when the character in the virtual reality dies. I emphasised on this state just to make everyone including myself to comprend the nature of death.

I had a realization recently – what we consider classical “laws of nature” are just highly probable events on the macroscale of reality. These mathematical laws can be broken (which we see often on the quantum scale with phenomenon like quantum entanglement and superposition). But the probability of such “law breaking” on a macro scale system is extremely low, so it virtually never happens. As Federico put so eloquently, there is no division.
