Space seems fundamental. To build a universe, surely you need something to build it on or in. Many, maybe most physicists now think that the fabric of space emerges from something deeper. And perhaps the most existentially disturbing such proposal is that our 3-D universe is just the inward projection of an infinitely distant boundary. A hologram, or sorts. Let’s see how that can actually work, and what the holographic principle really says about the “realness” of this universe.

Question to the title of the video

I don't know, why don't we just keep building telescopes that are limited to their orbit of Earth then we'll never know. It's too bad we don't have the technology to send out space probes, even "slow" ones with instruments to study and look at all that and perhaps send that information back?

i had previously assumed that 3d space would emerge from the boundary because of the lack of local reality to space-time. how does these dual universes account for that?

I didnt understand a lot of this but my current ideas of the universe is a weird mish mash of the ideas that consciousness is a fundamental building block of the universe, there is a multiverse with one universe for every possibility, and the idea that our consciousness, belief system, and collective knowledge/beliefs literally create and shape our current universe in a shared public lobby of sorts as well as our own personalized aspects especially when it comes to spiritual and religious beliefs

Time is a one dimensional string with the boundaries of the Big Bang and the infinite expansion of the universe. Meaning we're inside a singularity and you are a string of time. I'm a big fan of AdS/CFT. 😀

Heathen will dream up anything to avoid the reality accurately described in the Holy Bible.
But there has never been a worse time to play with delusional games, as the soul-damning great deception of false "good" is being prepared to accompany the nearing great tribulation.
The window of opportunity for Salvation of the eternal soul will soon close permanently.

The holographic universe is widely revered as one of the most important breakthroughs of the past few decades.

The reason is that it strikes at the mystery of quantum gravity – the long-sought unification of quantum physics, which governs particles and their interactions, and general relativity, which casts gravity as the product of warped space-time.

Then again, you might wonder why the idea is held in such high regard given that it remains a mathematical conjecture, which means it is unproven, and that the model universe it applies to has a bizarre geometry that doesn’t resemble our universe.

The answer, it turns out, is twofold.

First, the holographic conjecture has helped to make sense of otherwise intractable problems in particle physics and black holes.

Second, and more intriguing perhaps, physicists have finally begun to make headway in their attempts to demonstrate that the holographic principle applies to the cosmos we actually reside in.
