02/23/2025 - 3:57 PMAs pessimistic as it may sound, I am in the no-free-will group. I think we just don't understand particle interactions well enough yet, which is where this "emergence" comes in as a placeholder/excuse.

Does a rock know it exists? maybe this is only a living being thing, so do bacteria, or single cells in your body, or even single neurons, know they exist? what about animals? Do stars, that burn nuclear fuel and then sort of "die" know they exist? the feeling of conscious is what creates the "feeling" of free will. This is probably the root question, explain this, and you explained everything that has to do with the difference between, non-living, living and intelligent life, Does a computer with very powerful AI systems, know it exists? leave this as an open question.

02/23/2025 - 3:57 PMWatch out for those impulsive people, they tend to lack freewill and become incapable of thinking or imagining anything for themselves, But sometimes it's OK depends on the situation. No one want to stuck with a spiked hair peacock on the otherend. They lose reality in the mirror depending on the individuals obsession or perspective of life. Its a bit hard to understand ive looked at freewill myself from a young age it can be understood by experiencing it. An example watching someone repeat something you're not saying outloud like you just spoke to them about it, or a child acting out something you've been visualizing and not understanding what its seeing, but it can come down to genetics, and what side of your brain you've started using first. Born left handed and trained to use my right hand, so on a hemisphere brain test i was considered very intelligent but very forgetful. Left handed peoples brain learn visual and body before vocal. You ever see a sleepwalker run around a party in its underwear talking to people and knowing where everything is it will blow your mind. Dont be surprised when people do the opposite well they believe they are awake, they don't even know they are just sleepwalking through life. You know that lucid woman walking around Walmart with her stuffed teddy bear for a kid that reality with a pun. Most the time its unnoticeable but you'll be dreamwalking around never paying attention lost in some impulsive chain of thoughts. Could be just from looking at a notification on a phone, with the wrong individual watching. We'll look at the time something in that message struck a nerve. Throughout the years i tend to get tired of seeing the effects of it. Example watching people grab the right ear and turn and look for the noises, i witnessed this in many occasions over a few year span of time, as well as groups of women talking about where the voice was coming from, so with a bit of looking around it seems to be old thoughts lingering in a large area. It was around the time 4g internet was being installed, so i kinda put that into the concept of understanding it. As well as what was hearing, id find in the background noise on the other side of the planet in videos.

02/23/2025 - 3:57 PMJ.R.R. Tolkien once wrote, about this very same subject, that man is both a garden and a gardener. Which is what the “free will side” is saying, actually. They’re saying your will is an active force and does have a say in how things turn out. Not that other forces cannot be involved. Hell, a guy once wrote a short book about how, according to him, the unconscious world is actually inhabited by the spirits of the dead, who wrestle for the “favor” of our conscious mind. And the stronger we become mentally and spiritually, the more of a say we have in this battle. Isn’t that, dead spirits aside, the whole reason why psychoanalysis is a thing? The belief that people can be more than mere spectators within their own minds, although they’ll never be in full control of it? I feel like if we give up such hope, we may as well give up on life itself.
