  Like so much of physics these days it's all about the theory and no one is concerned about the actual proof. If your theory can't be proved, it's not science – it's religion. And that's the biggest problem with modern physics. Theoreticians are so in love with their "beautiful" mathematics that they just believe and don't bother to prove.
  Physics is dying.

  The sad thing about LISA stuff is years ago as part of an Applied Math class I implemented a rudimentary concept of collision detection using upper triangular matrices (inelastic collisions). One of the possibilities was using Fourier transforms on the resulting data to find if waves were propagating, more relevant when the particles have a restoring force to their "center". LISA is like, an exactly useful implementation of the concept.

  Why are we assuming the destabilizations from the high energy ground state were cosmic distances apart? My assumption would be that they were incredibly frequent (maybe infinitely so) in a way that knocked the ground state into the well at all points of space. I guess you could test that if you could measure the phase angles. You would find that they were random for any given point in space.
