Biotechnology plays a role in various parts of life. It's divided into eight color-coded categories.
1. Red biotechnology involves medicine.
2. White/Gray biotech involves industrial prosesses.
3. Green biotech to create more sustainable practices and crops.
4. Gold biotechnology is also known as bioinformatics
5. Blue biotech uses aquatic biomass, like algae and cyanobacteria, as a fuel source and in the development of pharmaceuticals.
6. Yellow biotech refers to food production processes, like the 6,000-year-old process of fermentation.
7. Violet biotech is the branch that deals with the legal side of the biotech field.

Blue biotechnology is the application of biotechnology to waters that control the processes that occur in the aquatic environment. Green biotechnology is application of biotechnology in agriculture and plantation.

Violet biotech is the branch that deals with the legal side of the biotech field, ensuring that biotech practices abide by an enthical code
Dark biotech is appropriately named, referring to the use of biotechnology for nefarious purpose, such as creating parthogens used in warfare
