    Humans are not machines with mechanical parts interacting in known or linear fashion: it is a highly complex system with many, many factors, variables, parameters, processes interacting in a highly non-linear fashion. There are not only known unknowns, but also unknown unknowns. There is a mental factor, environment which plays such a huge role, stress, eating habits that are at the root of so many diseases…
    The same goes for earth sciences. I recommend the book "Useless arithmetic:why environmental scientists can’t predict the future" by Orrin H. Pilkey and Linda Pilkey-Jarvis.

    I used to work on Ansys simulations during my master’s. Very challenging as a software, mostly for someone who had a college oriented mind at the time. Now after two years in my career, I know understand the importance of certain tools engineers are given. Most importantly, I understand the importance of data and its limitations. And now I get what I was doing during my master’s.

    For me it's very inexplicable that we are talking about Apollo program in 60-70s years where digital twins have already existed and astronauts thankfully this simulation technology could get back to the earth. And afterwards we are talking that is very challenging make something like that?

    Digital twins can train robots , test cars,planes and other vehicles before they enter the real world and predict how cancer tumorsight grow or how a cancer tumor might respond to radiotherapy treatment or predict how an Antarctic ice sheet might flow under certain temperatures or how a fridge might function ! This technology can really change many areas of the world and help with work in many industries accross all fields !
