Description: This is an exploration of the greatest discoveries in cosmology, the great scientists and astronomers behind them, and the still unresolved mysteries of the Universe at the most extreme scales of time, gravity, and distance across the deepest space.

This is part of a larger script I wrote for the James Webb Space Telescope: https://youtu.be/zcTxuQZzJbQ
The Big Bang, Dark Matter, the Cosmic Microwave Background, Cosmic Web Filaments, the End of Greatness, Inflation, Dark Energy, and there’s still so many questions about the nature of our Universe.
Tonight we learn what the current lambda cold dark matter big bang model of the universe says happened from the first few seconds to the first few million years after the universe was thought have come into existence.
We learn what older cosmological theories evolved into and how our conception of light, matter and energy has changed over that last few centuries as our understanding of them has deepened.
We learn what the biggest mysteries of physics and cosmology still are and about the huge gaps in our understanding of the cosmic dark ages, the dark matter halos around nearly all galaxies, and how the still-mysterious phenomena of the big bang, inflation, and dark energy is propelling galaxies apart.
Thanks so much for watching. Let me know what you thought. -Rich

02/22/2025 - 5:57 AMAmazing presentation with so much spectacular information. Kids should see this type of thing – we need for every human being to be in awe of the universe we live in, the planet we live on. If they were, maybe things would be different.

02/22/2025 - 5:57 AMCheer~~~the science of the origin and development of the universe. Modern astronomy is dominated by the Big Bang theory, which brings together observational astronomy and particle physics.😊

02/22/2025 - 5:57 AMDark Matter Theory: I believe dark matter originates from black holes. The size of a galaxy is influenced by the size of the black hole at its center. I propose that galaxies were formed because the immense gravity of black holes attracted stars, gas clouds, and other matter, drawing them into orbit and thus creating a galaxy.
I think that during the Big Bang, the first black holes were created from supernovae, and these black holes played a crucial role in forming the first galaxies. The mass and size of a galaxy depend on the mass of the black hole at its center.
The reason we don’t see dark matter is that it doesn’t emit or reflect light—it’s invisible to our eyes, but its gravitational effects are detectable. My hypothesis is that dark matter is not a separate substance, but rather, it is the gravitational influence of the black hole. The black hole’s gravity would have pulled in matter, forming stars, galaxies, and possibly the dark matter itself.
This might explain why galaxies formed so rapidly after the Big Bang: the immense gravity of the black holes helped gather matter quickly and created the structure of galaxies. So, in my view, dark matter might be an effect of the black hole’s gravitational pull, and the galaxy’s mass is directly tied to the black hole at its center.
I believe I have a potential answer to the mystery of dark matter—but, of course, I could be wrong, and further research is needed.
